Animal Care Assistant

                                               Lillian S.

Hello, my name is Lillian.  I was born and raised in Hawaii, where at a young age my love of animals developed and I was a foster parent for the Hawaii  Humane Society.  I attended college at Elizabethtown College in Pennsylavania, where I graduated with honors and received a Bachelors of Science degree in Environmental Science.  I spent a semester living and studying in the Australian rainforest researching the distribution and diets of arboreal mammals.  During the summer of 2007, I was a volunteer zookeeper's assistant at the Honolulu Zoo working with tigers, primates and bears.  After college I interned at the International Exotic Animal Sanctuary for 6 months working with over 70 exotic felines and bears.  At the beginning of 2010, I moved to Florida and began working at Bay Moorings Animal Hospital.   I was excited for the opportunity to work in a veterinary setting and to be able to learn something new every day.  I currrently only have one cat , Maggie May, who is the love of my life, and she sadly still lives in Hawaii, but I will hopefully adopt more animals in the near future.

Veterinary Technician

Lisa L.

Hello, my name is Lisa. I have been a veterinary technician for 4 years but have worked with animals for the last 10 years. Previously I worked as an Animal Control Officer and Animal Health Inspector when I lived in England, where I gained a BS in Environmental Science, but since moving to the US 5 years ago I have dedicated myself to veterinary technology. I now have an AS degree in veterinary technology and am a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT). I am particularly interested in dentistry and I am also a certified veterinary dental technician.

I am married to my lovely husband Karl. I have 2 dogs Scuba and Snorkel and 4 cats, Flash, Manatee, Gizmo and Leo. In my spare time I enjoy going to the beach with my dogs and exploring the local area.

Bay Moorings Animal Hospital is the nicest veterinary hospital I have worked at. Dr Cunningham is the most genuine and caring Veterinarian I have ever met and it is an honor to work with her every day.

Jessica L.

Hello, my name is Jessica. I have been a veterinary technician assistant for  1 year at Bay Moorings Animal Hospital. I originally started as a volunteer in the kennel and worked my way up. I have always been interested in animals. I started working with animals when I was fourteen, volunteering at Ewing Animal Shelter in New Jersey. This is when I realized I wanted to be a veterinarian.

I started my education at Manatee Community College and am currently finishing my B.S in Biology with Marine concentration at University of South Florida. I am also taking some classes through Penn Foster to better educate myself in the veterinary field.

I have three cats named Oreo, Garfield, and Jack. I also have one dog named Lizzy (German Shepard/ Chow Chow), as well as a Dumbo rat named Ratatoui and a dwarf hamster named Gummy Bear. In my spare time I like to go to the beach, movies, shopping, and of course study.

I am so happy that Bay Moorings Animal Hospital has given me the opportunity to grow while working with such great people.

Sarah R.

Sarah has volunteered at Bay Moorings Animal Hospital since she was 16 years old and was hired as a part time employee when she was 17. She works as a Veterinary Techinician Assistant.  She is currently a freshman at the University of Florida, studying biology with an emphasis of becoming a Veterinarian.

Sarah is very active with extracurricular activities and is also a certified lifeguard.

She lives with her family and many 4 legged furry pets in St. Petersburg.
